Nestled in a quaint New England town, Mystic Aquarium is a Connecticut tourism staple that attracts visitors both young and old. Through a partnership with Julia Balfour, the aquarium strives to inspire and educate the community on our world’s oceans and sealife.
Together, Building Unique Experiences
With this website we aimed to highlight the exciting events happening every day at Mystic Aquarium. We looked at leading theme park websites, even Jurassic World, for inspiration on engaging an audience. The site fully immerses the user in the aquarium with video, sounds and images that excite the senses.

Exploration: WILD
Mystic Aquarium’s Exploration: WILD exhibit allows visitors to explore and experience 5 different ecosystems: the rainforest, wetlands, arctic, desert, and open ocean. Mystic Aquarium wanted custom kiosks and interfaces to enhance the exhibit and offer games that entertained, engaged, and educated. Julia Balfour, LLC created custom kiosk web interfaces with custom activities for each environment. In just one month, these environments were used by over 60,000 visitors.
